Annadata Suraksha Abhiyaan aims to address two systemic challenges in India

accident-related fatalities

High incidence of farmer accident-related fatalities – 2,080 farming accidents and 120 fatalities happen every day, leading to estimated daily losses worth INR 15Cr

Negligence on Insurance

Negligible insurance penetration, with only 0.94% of farmers having access to accident-related insurance

We have come together to solve this problem by creating a highly subsidized tailor-made accident insurance product covering the needs of smallholder farmers in India and ensuring a scalable, technology-based claims-settlement process.

The initiative was successfully launched on 2nd October 2021 by Hon’ble Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar.

crowdfunding and Corporate CSR Partnerships

Samunnati, a specialized Agri value chain enabler will act as the facilitator and the promoter of the ‘Annadata Suraksha Abhiyaan’.

Choosing to lead by example, Samunnati with various sources and support of its team (through payroll giving) has initiated funding the premium of 50,000 farmers for the initial cover and aspires to cover 5 Mn smallholder farmers and their families from farming-related risks by 2027 through crowdfunding and corporate CSR partnerships.
